The Poorest Areas Civil Society (PACS) is an initiative of the Department for International Development (DFID). It works on the theme of land, livelihood, education and Health and Nutrition. In Bihar, PACS is working in 16 districts with 32 CSOs as its partner. CHARM is working in Nalanda as one of its partners.
CHARM was asked to shoulder the responsibility of organizing the JAN ADHIKAR UTSAV, with the punch line AWAZ VANCHITON KI at Nalanda. All the other CSO partners and their community based organizations participated under the flagship of CHARM to develop a movement under the JAN ADHIKAR UTSAV.
The JAN ADHIKAR UTSAV is an initiative to strengthen the Community Based Organizations and make them self-dependent, so that the deprived members of the different social and religious community working on different themes, can join hands and learn from the experiences of each other. This has helped in bringing the community based organizations, working on different themes, together and strengthened their bargaining power and made the service providers responsible and sensitive. About 1000 members from different CBOs attended the JAN ADHIKAR UTSAV, AWAZ VANCHITON KI at Rajgir Nalanda on 6-7 April.
