CHARM had promoted the institutionalized delivery, but it was noticed that due to various unavoidable reasons, a lot of deliveries were taking place at home. To minimize the delivery and child death at the time of delivery, it is necessary to improve the quality of Home deliveries.
In order to improve the quality of safe delivery at home, CHARM had organized a 10 days residential training for traditional birth attendant. It had conducted the training from 12th to 21st March 2015 at Hotel Shiv Surya, Sitamarhi under the MNCHN project, that was implemented in the Riga Block of the Sitamarhi District with the support from Save The Children.
In a total, 35 traditional birth attendants of the intervening area were selected and henceforth, attended the training. The Facilitator of Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA), Gujrat, facilitated these 35 TBAs on different themes of safe delivery at home. This has improved the quality of home delivery in the intervening area.
